We’re thrilled to introduce our brand-new nursery in the heart of Holybourne, due to open December 2025.
Set within the beautifully refurbished former Queen’s Head pub on the A31, this exciting new setting marks our sixth nursery across Hampshire and Wiltshire.

At First Friends, we’re no strangers to transforming spaces into beautiful and calming environments for little learners, having just undergone a major renovation of our nursery in Salisbury and opened a brand new nursery in Denmead this year.
When will First Friends, Holybourne open?
Our brand-new nursery is set to open in December 2025.
Originally, we aimed to welcome families by the end of October, but as with all building projects, it’s wise to expect the unexpected!
To ensure everything is perfect for our children and families, we’ve decided to move our open day to December.
We aim to be ready for nursery tours and settling-in sessions in November.
Rest assured, we’re working hard to bring our high-quality, thoughtfully designed space to life as quickly and safely as possible.

Meet the manager
Our award-winning Alton Manager, Jane Noble, will be leading our new Holybourne nursery! With her exceptional eye for detail and quality, Jane is involved from the very start, overseeing the full transformation from pub to nursery to ensure the highest standards from day one!
How many children can join?
Our Holybourne nursery will provide a nurturing, home-from-home environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years, with places for up to 56 children.
At First Friends Holybourne, we will have carefully designed spaces tailored to each stage of your child’s development — with dedicated rooms for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers.
Breakdown of age groups:
Under 2's - 14 children
2-3 year olds - 16 children
3-5 year olds - 24 children
Open hours and booking pattern
Our nursery offers:
- Half-day sessions (8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm)
- Full-day sessions (8am-6pm)
- We also offer optional early drop-offs for the early birds, from 7.30am
- We do not offer term-time only places
Our nursery is open 51 weeks of the year; we just closed for 1 week between Christmas and New Year, and Bank Holidays.
You can book a minimum of two half days or one full day per week.

What will my child eat?
At First Friends, food is so much more than what’s on the plate — it’s an opportunity to nurture lifelong healthy habits. We will be providing hot, home-cooked food. We will serve breakfast, snacks, dinner, and tea every day.
What will my child learn?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in England sets the basic statutory framework for early childhood education (from birth to 5 years old). This alone is not enough to fully prepare children for school or life beyond.
That’s why First Friends goes beyond the basic EYFS requirements. We provide a Premium Package, which is why 'First Friends' is the nursery of choice for many families in the local area.

We’re excited to welcome families to explore our brand-new nursery space once we are ready to open—in December 2025.
Families who register ahead of our official opening date will be given priority access to book a tour before anyone else.

To help us manage demand and plan effectively for room transitions, we have opened enrolment for families looking to start between December 2025 and October 2026 for toddlers and pre-school.
We are now full in our baby room until December 2026, however, we are now accepting registrations for babies to start in 2027.
