Choosing a nursery is a big step for any family. At First Friends, we believe the best outcomes happen when parents and nursery educators work together.
You know what makes them laugh, what helps them feel safe, what they enjoy doing, and what makes them a little unsure. By sharing that knowledge with us, we can get to know your child as an individual and give them the very best start.
Good communication isn't just about us telling you what your child has done that day.
Our teams take the time to get to know every child and their family, sharing important moments, achievements, interests and progress along the way.
We also love hearing what's happening at home — whether your child has discovered a new favourite book, mastered a new skill or developed an obsession with dinosaurs!
By sharing those little details, we can create stronger connections between home and nursery and build on the things that really interest your child.

Every child has a Key Person who plays an important role in helping them feel safe, settled and understood.
Your child's Key Person will get to know their personality, interests, routines and individual needs, while building a strong relationship with you too. They are an important point of contact throughout your child's nursery journey and will work alongside you to support their learning, development and wellbeing.

We use a range of ways to keep families informed and involved, including:

We are always looking for ways to improve what we do, and the people who experience First Friends every day are the best people to help us do that.
We regularly welcome feedback from our families and value your ideas, suggestions and honest opinions. Your feedback helps us celebrate what we're doing well and identify where we can do even better.
