Good communication isn't just about us telling you what your child has done that day.

Our teams take the time to get to know every child and their family, sharing important moments, achievements, interests and progress along the way.

We also love hearing what's happening at home — whether your child has discovered a new favourite book, mastered a new skill or developed an obsession with dinosaurs!

By sharing those little details, we can create stronger connections between home and nursery and build on the things that really interest your child.

Here's what you can expect from First Friends

Your child's Key Person

Every child has a Key Person who plays an important role in helping them feel safe, settled and understood.

Your child's Key Person will get to know their personality, interests, routines and individual needs, while building a strong relationship with you too. They are an important point of contact throughout your child's nursery journey and will work alongside you to support their learning, development and wellbeing.

We use a range of ways to keep families informed and involved, including:

Daily conversations with our nursery teams
Updates and observations through Tapestry
Parent evenings and opportunities to discuss your child's progress
Nursery newsletters and important updates
Our Family Hub where you can access useful information, policies and resources via our website
Play and learning ideas to continue the fun at home
Lots of events, celebrations and opportunities to be part of nursery life
We have a 'closed' group Facebook page for each of our nurseries. When your child joins our nursery, we will give permission for any of your family members to join the group.
