The safety and wellbeing of every child is of paramount importance to us, with safeguarding closely regulated by Ofsted and the local authority.
How We Keep Your Child Safe
Qualified and Vetted Teams
Background Checks: All staff members undergo rigorous background checks, including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks, to ensure they are suitable to work with children.
Training: Our team receives regular training in child protection, first aid, health and safety, and safeguarding policies to stay updated with the latest best practices.
Secure Premises
Our nurseries are equipped with secure entry systems to prevent unauthorised access. Any visitors, such as parents for nursery tours, need to show a form of identification and sign-in. They will never be left unattended.
Health & Safety
Regular Inspections: We conduct frequent health and safety audits to maintain a hazard-free environment. Any issues identified are promptly addressed.
Hygiene Standards: We follow strict hygiene protocols, including regular cleaning schedules, proper waste disposal, and promoting good personal hygiene among children and staff.
Child Protection Policies
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Our DSL is responsible for overseeing and implementing our safeguarding policies. They are trained to handle any concerns about a child's welfare.
Clear Reporting Procedures: We have a robust system for reporting and recording any concerns or incidents.
Internet Safety
Controlled Internet Access: We ensure internet access is supervised and restricted to child-friendly content.
Social Media:
All families members can opt in or out of use of our Photography policy whereby photos are uploaded to either our 'Closed Facebook Account' or our Public Social Media accounts.
Child Ratio
The current Ofsted recommended ratio in the baby rooms (under 2’s) is 1:3, the toddler rooms (2-3 years) 1:4. The pre-school rooms is 1:8 or 1:13 with an Early Years Teacher.
Management are not counted in the normal daily ratios so they can be available to cover sickness leave.

Safe in the Sun
We have successfully renewed our Sun Safe Nurseries Accreditation with SKCIN
This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to protecting children and their team from the harmful effects of UV exposure and embedding sun safety into daily practice.
- We provided sun cream as part of our care package
- We provide broad-brimmed sun hats for all children
- We take regular hydration breaks
- We check the daily UV index, which is integrated into health and safety routines
- We have sun shade structures in our gardens to ensure children can play safely outdoors, even on hot sunny days.
Medicine and Illness
Children can sometimes pick up coughs, colds, and other illnesses. To help reduce the spread of infection and keep everyone in our nursery as healthy as possible, we kindly ask families to follow the guidance below.
- Antibiotics: If your child has been prescribed antibiotics for an infectious illness, they should remain at home for 48 hours after starting their medication.
- Sickness and diarrhoea: If your child has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea, they should remain at home for 48 hours following their last episode before returning to nursery.
- Calpol and other medication: To help us accurately monitor your child’s health, we ask that children do not attend nursery immediately after being given Calpol or similar medication. Please allow at least four hours to pass before bringing them to nursery.
- If your child becomes unwell: If your child becomes unwell during the nursery day, we will contact you and ask that they are collected as soon as possible. We know this can sometimes be inconvenient, but it helps ensure your child can rest and recover while also reducing the spread of illness to others.
